$HDAO | We are buying National Treasures
Join Us & Become a Keeper of Human Heritage
Highly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kansong Art Museum is selling National Treasures at an auction in order to survive. A practice that is highly controversial, this is the first time in history to see National Treasures out in an Auction for South Korea.
In response, HeritageDAO was formed to raise $10M USD to
(1) Try and win the bids at the Auction taking place on Jan, 27th;
(2) Use the power of NFTs and;
(3) Collective intelligence of DAO to address Kansong Art Museum’s problems in innovative ways and more.
Once won, this shall be a monumental victory for Kansong Museum, Supreme Heritage DAO, and the blockchain/crypto industry.
HeritageDAO Mission Statement
We digitize only the finest ancient and modern arts that encompass the very essence of human heritage.
Issuing the Non-Fungible-Tokens (NFTs) based on the ownerships/copyrights of heritages unlock new possibilities for collectors, creators, and ecosystem players of our industry.
Building communities and liquidities around these will not only grow interactions around each asset but also encourages humanities to preserve heritages in the most active and awareness-raising ways possible.
HeritageDAO’s immediate goal is to purchase the following National Treasures from the K-auction on January 27th. In order for us to do this, we need to raise about $10M USD worth of funds to securely win the auctions for 2 National Treasures.
If successful, the DAO may then explore the goals of:
- Preservation: We have the Kansong Art Museum to custody the physical goods. Nothing changes on surface for them except for the ownership.
- Liquidity Generation: We mint NFTs over the ownership of the National Treasures and fractionalize to sell 49% to the open market while keeping the 51% under DAO at all time and collateralize them on the Crayon.Finance to recoup liquidity and run DeFi strategies per $HDAO’s proposals.
- Community Engagement: Returns we split per contribution rate, and potentially donate to custodians and/or government if DAO is willing.
- Raise Awareness: Producing derivatives of NFTs over the IPs of the national treasures (In-game Item or Quest, partnership with NFT design/production houses, lending out to Metaverse and etc)
Contribution Platform
With the limited time, we are going to stick to the JuiceBox, the same platform utilized by ConstitutionDAO to raise contributions.
Governance
Contributors are given a $HDAO token in return for their funds, serving as a governance token in HeritageDAO’s, managed on the Snapshot platform.
Any holders of $HDAO will be able to make and vote on proposals, with votes weighted by the token share.
Governance will be handled by the multi-sig until the auction takes place and the National Treasures are successfully acquired.
If the bid fails or auction goes burial, $HDAO holders will given an option to (1) Keep the $HDAO for the next project or (2) Redeem the $HDAO for $ETH.
HeritageDAO is an ongoing project with mission to recoup, generate liquidity, raise awareness and keep communities engaged to preserve more heritages over the lifetime of the $HDAO.
Once we achieve the initial goal of securing a tangible national treasure, multi-sig will kick in to better manage the fund of the DAO (We will come back to this in detail).
Team Background
In collaboration with Crayon.Finance, HeritageDAO was initiated by an anonymous expert in the fields of Ancient and Modern arts over a cup of tea on a Sunday afternoon (Link).
He/She has served as a director for many reputable museums and has been an active participant of Sotheby’s and Christie’s for over a decade.
Heritage DAO ($HDAO) as a collective whole, is to protect, collect, share and enjoy the essence of cultural heritage, covering both monetary and non-monetary aspects in all ages throughout the world.
In solidarity with those in interest, we vehemently oppose the tragic incidents of vandalism, such as the destruction of the Bamiyan stone Buddha in the Middle East and Central Asia in the last century, and will contribute to its restoration in the future.
